Faculty colleagues, welcome to the faculty senate website. This website will be developed throughout the spring semester, 2006. Here you will find news and announcements of general interest to faculty, and an opportunity to share your views with other faculty and your senate representatives on issues and concerns of interest to all faculty members at Coppin. The site will include other features as well.

Your faculty senate is the voice for all 138 women and men of the regular faculty at Coppin. It is faculty who do the essential work of Coppin, which is to provide quality higher education to over 4000 students in each of the liberal arts disciplines, as well as the career and professional fields represented on this campus.

Of vital importance is your faculty experience at Coppin, including your sense of professional accomplishment and fulfillment. This is essential for academic excellence.

When your faculty senate clearly articulates the collective consensus of the faculty, in whose hands rests the university's raison d'etre, the senate can exercise significant persuasive influence in honor of values that include academic integrity, fairness, openness, collegial governance, and full support of faculty with the necessary financial, material, and human resources of the university.
