Love Blossoms, Secrets Unfold, Worlds Collide and the TRUTH Prevails !

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents a staged reading of a new play, a.k.a Truth by Cynthia Hardeman, on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Theatre Lab on the lower level of the Grace Hill Jacobs Building.  Admission is FREE.

a.k.a. Truth tells the powerful story of two young people drawn together by their mutual love for music. While trying to find the courage to stand in their individual truths, a secret is revealed, their worlds collide, and everything in their lives is turned upside down.

Cynthia Hardeman, a native of Kansas City, Missouri is a full-time second career theatre student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her first full-length play, now titled a.k.a Truth was selected last summer to participate in the WordBridge Program held at CenterStage.

The staged reading of a.k.a Truth will be followed by an audience talk-back moderated by Rosiland Cauthen, Education Director at CenterStage and David D. Mitchell, Arts Culture and Community Fellow with the Deutsch Foundation.  The playwright will also be with us and will participate in this event.

The world premiere production of a.k.a Truth will open Coppin Repertory Theatre’s 2013-2014 Season. Production dates are October 11-14, 2013.
