The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree program provides a learning environment for professional teachers in which collaborative efforts between college faculty and practicing teachers result in positive change in the classroom.
The structure of the M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction program includes a cyclical process of inquiry, reflection, application, evaluation, and additional reflection. These five elements are incorporated into the activities and assignments of each course.
The course content in the M. Ed. program is presented through multi-learning modalities which include video presentations that feature nationally recognized leaders in education, interaction with a study team, faculty mentors, classroom applications, and required readings. Specialized study guides direct the application of concepts presented in the video lessons, as well as printed textbooks and journal articles.
Program participants organize themselves into collegial study teams (a minimum of two with a maximum of six members). The study teams meet at schools or other mutually designated locations. Teams are required to determine their meeting time and communicate their preferred schedule to their Faculty Mentor.
The Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree program offers students flexibility and the opportunity to pursue a high quality graduate education in the convenience of their home or school.
