The College of Health Professions (CHP) is excited to offer academic support and clinical instruction in our state–of-the-art Simulation and Learning Resource Centers.
Simulation is an integral part of the clinical experience of students in the College of Health Professions. Students practicing in the CHP Simulation Center have extraordinary opportunities to indulge in a “real world” hospital environment, while applying quality, evidence based and safe patient care in a variety of settings before they treat real patients. Students sharpen their clinical skills using high fidelity patient simulators with cutting-edge technology with the direct guidance of the exceptional and experienced College of Health Professions faculty.
Located on the 4th floor of the Health and Human Services Building (HHSB), this innovative student support facility houses the Learning Resource Center, four clinic examination rooms and a ten room, 26 bed simulation laboratory. The SimCenter is home to 19 high and low fidelity adult, child and infant simulators.
Each simulation laboratory is fully equipped with actual, functional equipment simulating medical–surgical, pediatric, maternal-child, and community health settings.
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) provides remediation and services to enhance study skills and content retention. The LRC includes an auxiliary library, an adjoining conference room, adjacent study and computer areas, and audiovisual resources.
