Hello. Welcome to Coppin State University! The University and I are pleased to have you as part of our student/scholar community. As the International Student Coordinator, I am the first person you need to meet on campus - to update your I-20 form. I am also the person you need to see for travel, work authorization, and internship updates. Remember to check for updated information on our upcoming new student orientation meeting. I look forward to seeing you there!
As you start your studies in a new university and culture, you will probably have many questions such as: Whom do I talk to when there is a problem? Where will I live? Where do I eat? The Coppin State website provides you with quite a bit of information about living at the University, the City of Baltimore and the United States, but more importantly, the many other members of the university community and I are available to answer your questions and to assist in any way possible.
One of the most important things for international students is adjusting to a new environment. The CCSD offers individual counseling, support groups, and consultation specifically geared toward adjusting and acculturating to your new school. We hope to make your stay as pleasing and comforting as possible while allowing you to find success in and out of the classroom.
My office is in the Center for Counseling and Student Development located, on the first floor (across from Financial Aid) of the Miles Conner Administration Building.
Please contact us with your concerns or questions or just stop by to say "hello." I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jared Phillips
