Artistic director Alice Howes presents a night of diverse, inventive contemporary dance with an eight-member ensemble, which includes both professional dancers from the Baltimore community and advanced dance majors from Coppin State University. This concert features “Emptiness is All”, a quartet developed from spoken poetry and its translation into American Sign Language. The ensemble also will perform Ação de Graças, a joyful movement piece that celebrates community.
A Christmas Carol like you've never heard before, One Night Only set right here in Baltimore.
Ebenezia has one last night to confront her past and reconcile with her sister with the help of a ghostly (and stylish) visitor. Join us for this original version of Dickens' holiday classic, infused with the Motown and R&B songs that you know and love. Will Ebenezia learn how to forgive and find her Christmas cheer? Join us and find out!
One Night Only, written by Prof. James Macon Grant, is directed and will be performed by the Coppin Players. Performances will be held Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14, at 8:00 p.m. in the Theatre Lab, located on the lower level of the Grace Hill Jacobs Building. Admission is only $5.00 for all patrons, and this production is entirely appropriate for family viewing.
One Night Only will be presented for two nights this year, based on requests from students, colleagues and friends who were unable to get seats when last year's premiere production really was performed for one night only and immediately sold out. Make reservations if you want to see this show. For more information and to reserve tickets, please call Visual & Performing Arts at Coppin, 410 - 951-3366.
