1947

Mrs. Myrtle Thompson Koger is one of the few remaining founding members of Baltimore’s historic Netmen Coed Tennis Club as well as a member of the Baltimore Tennis Club. These are two of the nation’s oldest clubs of the American Tennis Association (ATA). During and beyond the civil rights era, Mrs. Koger earned rankings on the ATA circuit, volunteered as a tournament official, and was a dedicated tennis instructor and travel chaperone for youth. Mrs. Koger has had a significant impact on promoting tennis in the Baltimore community and nationally. She is now an avid tennis spectator. Recently, Mrs. Koger hosted a luncheon event celebrating Baltimore’s African American Tennis Pioneers and tennis history. Tennis Pioneer guests included Coppin’s Dr. Alfred Sutton and Alum, Mrs. Camilla Jordan Parham (Joseph).

1971

After many years teaching in Baltimore City, Rev. Smith-Horn received a M.A. in Divinity from Drew University. She currently serves as senior pastor at Christ Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. She has received the Fannie Lou Hamer Award for Outstanding Leadership and the NAACP Rosa Parks Award for Dynamic Women in the Pulpit. She is married to Rev. Norman E. Horn and they reside in Owings Mills, Maryland.

1992

Dr.Taylor-Webb became the Dean of the School of Education at Bowie State University. She previously served as Associate Dean of the School of Education and Human Services at the University of Michigan-Flint where she oversaw assessment and accreditation. She earned both her Masters and Ph.D. degrees from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

1996

Lt. Sabrina Tapp-Harper B.S., Criminal Justice

Mrs.Tapp-Harper has been with the Baltimore Police Department since 1987 working in several capacities including Public Information Spokesperson, Internal Affairs, Education and Training and in the Office of the Police Commissioner. She is currently a police lieutenant within the Department.

2000

Damon has been developing business software for over seven years. He interned with the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company as a student and after graduation, he was hired full-time. He is currently with Denali Solutions which develops software for law enforcement agencies all over the country.

2003

Troy received a M.B.A. from Bowie State University. He currently owns and operates a publishing company; McIntyre Stewart Publishing Company. He has written several books; one that specifically talks about his college experience titled, “How to Survive College or Life in General”.
