Students in all majors are welcome to minor in speech/theatre and may do so for a variety of reasons. They may want to acquire a superior command of the English language and strengthen their skills in public speaking or debate; they may want to develop critical listening and thinking skills; or they may want to increase their understanding and appreciation of theatre arts both as participants and as audience members. Speech-theatre minors must complete 18 CREDITS (6 courses) in speech and/or theatre beyond the GERs and may choose courses in areas such as:
Speech/theatre minors complete their remaining courses in such areas as acting, directing, and history of the African American performer.
