Application Information

Eligibility Requirements:

Upward Bound is not a club but an academic preparatory program. You have to be willing to commit time in the summer and the academic year. You must meet the following requirements.

• Fit the low-income requirements provided by the United States Department of Education and or be a potential first generation college student.
• Get at least three letters of recommendations from adults at your school or members of your community (sorry no family letters of recommendations) to tell us about your character and potential.
• Write an essay about how Upward Bound can benefit you and your goals in life.
• Be ready to learn, achieve and graduate high school and college!

Application Checklist:

Documents needed to complete the application process are included in the following Application Packet. An essay explaining why you want to join the Coppin State University Upward Bound Program is also required.
