Dear Prospective Student:
Information concerning the application process and special instructions is provided here. Please adhere to these
instructions to help ensure an expeditious review and admission both to Coppin State University and to the Helene Fuld
School of Nursing.

Instructions
- Complete the ONLINE Application of Undergraduate Admission for admission to Coppin State University. Please note that applicants must request that two (2) transcripts be sent from all schools you have previously attended. One copy should be sent to the Office of Admissions when you apply through the CSU Admissions Office for admission into the university and the second copy to the Nursing Admissions Coordinator/Recruiter at the Helene Fuld School of Nursing.
- For the Traditional BSN Program, applicants must also arrange to have their official Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores sent to the Office of Admissions. Applicants who have not taken the SAT should call the Office of Admissions at (410) 951-3600 to discuss the situation and perhaps arrange to have the Institutional SAT taken at Coppin State University.
- The SAT is waived for applicants who have had a five-year break in their education. However, university placement examinations will have to be taken unless otherwise exempt.

- Obtain three (3) references using the Nursing Recommendation forms
and complete the Helene Fuld School of Nursing Application Form.
These forms should be sent directly to the Nursing Admissions Coordinator/Recruiter.
- If you completed the paper application for admission to Coppin State University, mail that completed application , have official copies of transcripts from all schools previously attended sent, and arrange to have your official SAT scores sent as soon as possible to:

When the university receives and reviews applicants' information, applicants will be notified regarding their
admission status at Coppin. Applicants must be accepted to Coppin State University and fulfill any requirements
set forth by the Office of Admissions before their application will be considered by the Helene Fuld School of Nursing.
- To apply for both the Traditional BSN Program and the RN to BSN Completion Program, complete the Helene Fuld School of Nursing Undergraduate Application and three (3) Recommendation Forms. These forms should be sent directly to the Nursing Admissions Coordinator/Recruiter.
- Mail the completed Helene Fuld School of Nursing Application Form, have the three (3) Nursing
Recommendations sent, and also have official copies of academic transcripts from all schools previously attended sent as
soon as possible to:

When all information is received, the Admissions Committee of the Helene Fuld School of Nursing will review all
applicants' information.
- Applicants who have been accepted to the University, met all the requirements thereof, and have a
cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.5 as stipulated by Coppin State University Office of Admissions, will
be invited to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (T.E.A.S.).
- Please note that an applicant may not officially declare Nursing as a major while enrolled in
developmental courses [MATH 97 or MATH 98], nor until accepted by the Helene Fuld School of Nursing. Acceptance to Coppin State University
does not mean automatic acceptance into the Nursing Program. Students must meet the requirements of and be accepted by
the Helene Fuld School of Nursing to declare Nursing as a major.
- Information on financial assistance is available through the Financial Aid Office. If you are considering
requesting financial aid, you should schedule an appointment with a Financial Aid Counselor in the Financial Aid Office
by calling (410) 951-3636. In this way, applicants are able to obtain the required forms and to explore the various
financial aid options available. DO NOT WAIT! Applicants will want applications processed well before any deadlines
arrive! Also, keep in mind that once a student is accepted into the Nursing Program, other financial aid options may
become available.
- Due to the overwhelming number of applications received each year, following up on your application is in
