Undergraduate Nursing Program

Tracy Murray

Welcome to this website for Coppin State University Helene Fuld School of Nursing (HFSON). The HFSON has a rich history of nurturing potential and transforming the lives of our students. Since you are visiting the website you may be a potential student, current student, a person who is interested in pursuing nursing or an alumnus. I relish the opportunity to discuss the HFSON. The faculty and administration are indeed committed to teaching excellence, research, scholarship and community service. Our students are encouraged to be actively involved in the learning environment. Students engage in clinical experiences throughout the Baltimore area with extension throughout Maryland. Students are involved in the community through experiences such as Take a Love One to the Doctor Day, the Power to End Stroke, World AIDS Day and the Pythias A and Virginia I. Jones African American Community Forum on Memory Loss. Our students are qualified to begin working within the transforming healthcare delivery system whether in the acute care setting, ambulatory care or in the community.

Moreover, upon graduation from the HFSON our students are equipped to continue in lifelong learning by pursuing either their Masters of Science in Nursing or Doctoral education. Our program continues to prepare well-educated professional nurses who are gaining employment locally and nationally.

Sincerely,

Tracy Murray, Masters, DNP, CRNP, FNP-C
Interim Associate Dean for Baccalaureate Education FNP/DNP Coordinator
