The Center for Teaching and Learning with Technology provides support to faculty in the use of instructional technology. We conduct workshops and consult with faculty individually and in groups. Our mission is to enhance student retention and success through the use of engaging, effective and appropriate technology solutions.
Some of the technologies that we help faculty to use include:
Blackboard is a Course Management System (CMS) that allows an instructor to interact with students online. Whether you are teaching a face-to-face, hybrid, or completely online class, you can use Blackboard to engage students in online discussions, assess students' knowledge with online tests and quizzes, hold virtual office hours, and more.
Students say that watching Tegrity recordings of their classes help them to study more effectively -- and they us that they wish all their classes used Tegrity! Research has shown that students who use Tegrity earn higher grades. You can easily use Tegrity to record your face-to-face classes in Coppin's smart classrooms as well as mini-lectures in your office and even at home.
Faculty can use TurnItIn within Blackboard to grade students' papers online, as well as easily check for unoriginal work (plagiarism).
