Students on Leadership

"Being involved in various student leadership positions have done many great things for me. I have been given opportunities to network and attend numerous conferences across the country free of expense (Washington D.C., Delaware, West Virginia, New York, Illinois). My involvement in student leadership has opened doors to scholarships, internships, and job opportunities. I believe student leadership has, and still is, preparing me for life after Coppin. Through my tenure as a student leader I have gained experiences (team work, planning, budgeting, promoting, evaluating, etc...) that help my professional development. These experiences help nurture my potential to grow as a young professional striving for excellence."

Jerome Barney, SAPB Co-Chair; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. President; Sports Management Association President
"Being a student leader has given me so many networking opportunities which I'm grateful for. It has also helped me in becoming a better person and has prepared me for the real world."

Joy Ajayi, Student Activities Programming Board Chair
"Being a student leader has taught me to manage and maximize my time; to communicate with my peers; and to effectively produce a positive change. Leadership has also helped me to learn what is important, not only within my current title, but in life. The lessons I've learned while serving Coppin State will help me throughout the rest of my life."

Lauron Thomas, Miss Coppin State University 2010-2011
