The School of Education offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs designed primarily to prepare students for careers in teaching. The programs also qualify students for positions in non-teaching fields such as sports management. An integral component of the Teacher Education Program is the development of the Teacher Education students' understanding of the realities of our multicultural, interdependent world and their ability to work effectively with all children. To prepare individuals to guide and instruct learners of all ages, each program is based on a core of general education courses from the humanities and fine arts, the social and behavioral sciences, the natural and physical sciences, and health and physical education. Majors in any Teacher Education Program may also minor in a discipline in the Arts and Sciences. Students are provided many opportunities to integrate practice with theoretical course work.
