Masters In Rehabilitation Counseling

The graduate program at Coppin State University in Rehabilitation Counseling is committed to preparing a diverse population of students for employment in the counseling profession. The goals of this program are to increase the number of professional personnel available to enhance the quality of specialized counseling services to a wide and diverse group of consumer populations, and to maintain and upgrade basic skills of personnel employed as providers of Vocational Rehabilitation Services to individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Coppin's Rehabilitation Counseling faculty members are thoroughly committed to assuring that all students in the program are knowledgeable and sensitively aware of its mission. Key features of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program include:

• The faculty members work to accomplish the program goals by providing a compendium of accredited courses, clinical site experiences, and distance learning arrangements that have proved to be efficacious in responding to current and anticipated personnel needs in the field of Rehabilitation Counseling.
• In all aspects of the Coppin State University Training Program, we seek to structure a balanced mix of theoretical and practitioner elements in the training curriculums.
• The Coppin State University faculty members have developed a comprehensive state-of-the-art curriculum of courses, clinical internships, and other field experiences. They also mentor each trainee in order to ensure that he or she is exposed to acceptable standards in terms of curricular and practitioner experiences.
• The Rehabilitation Counseling Education Program is designed in accordance with the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) requirements. The CSC Program is fully accredited by CORE.
