Network Accounts
  • Why do I need a Student Network Account?

    Your network account allows you to access:

    1. Coppin Email account - C.S.U. official channel of communication
    2. Use of Computer Resources (computer labs, computerized classrooms, library computer resources, etc)
    3. Web Hosting Resourcess
    4. Personal Folder on H: network drive which is only accessible on campus. (You are encouraged to SAVE all documents in your personal folder, AND a portable storage media: CD-Rom, USB Flash Drive) (Note: 3 ½ Floppy Drives are not available in the Open Computer Labs)
  • How can I activate my student network account?

    Network accounts are automatically created for all new registered CSU students.

    Note: Returning students should visit the Computer Lab in room MC-24 (Grace Jacobs).

  • How do I setup, change or reset my network password?......[Answer]
Student Email Accounts
  • How can I get an CSU student email account?

    Student email accounts are automatically created along with your CSU student network account.

    Note: You must use your CSU Student Network user name and password to access your email account.

  • What is my e-mail address?

    Your e-mail address consist of your Student Network ID followed by the @student.coppin.edu, for example Jdoe00@student.coppin.edu.

  • What is the storage capacity of my CSU e-mail account?

    The Coppin Student Email has a storage capacity of 5MB. This storage capacity includes the Inbox, Deleted Items and Sent Items folders. The following warnings will be sent to the Inbox if you exceed the stated storage limits:

    • 2 MB = Warning - Your Mailbox is over its size limit (however they can continue to send and receive).
    • 3 MB = Warning - Your Mailbox is over its size limit and the student will not be able to Send Email
    • 5 MB = A Warning will be sent to the Inbox stating that the Mailbox is CLOSED and the student will not be able to send or receive email messages.

    Special Notes: When you send an email, a copy of that email is automatically saved in the "Sent Items" folder. Deleted emails are automatically sent to the Deleted Items folder. To free up storage space in your Inbox, please be sure to permanently delete unwanted email by clicking on the "Trashcan" icon located on the toolbar.

  • How do I login to my E-mail Account?......[Answer]
H: Drive
  • What is an H-Drive?

    The H: Drive is a storage area for student document and files, which is only accessible while on campus. The H: Drive has a maximum storage space of 150 MB.

    We encourage students to Save all of their information on the H: Drive for security purpose and accessibility while on campus. Also, save on the 3 1/2" Floppy Disk for accessing data off campus.

  • How do I access my H-Drive?

    When you log onto a computer using your student network account a network drive is automatically mapped to your H: Drive or storage folder. You may access your H: Drive by going to the My Computer link and clicking the H: Drive icon.

  • How do I save files to my H-Drive?

    To Save files to your H: Drive
    Click File, Save As, then from the Save In box select your H: Drive - [JDoe00$ on 'Oriole' (H:)] and Click Save.
