Admission Requirements For Special Graduate Students

Baccalaureate applicants who do not meet the criteria for admission as degree candidates or who do not choose formally to enter the graduate degree program may be admitted on a conditional basis under the following conditions:

Standing

Every person who applies will be evaluated by one of the program directors and, if admitted, will be given a profile showing any graduate credits, any deficiencies to be corrected, required courses, and options available. This student profile will become a permanent part of the student’s record and will serve as a guide throughout the period of matriculation.

Completion Time

All requirements for the M.S. Degree must be completed within seven calendar years from formal acceptance into the program.

Scholastic Standards

Graduate students must maintain an overall grade point average of 3.0. No more than six credits of C may be applied toward the M.S. Degree. Students failing to maintain a 3.0 average may be placed on probation, suspended, or dismissed from the degree program.

Degree Requirements

The M.S. Degree in Human Services Administration requires the successful completion of 36 credit hours of graduate coursework. This consists of 24 credit hours of required core coursework (including student’s choice of internship or research option), and 12 credit hours of coursework in student’s choice of one of the program’s elective content areas.
