Coppin State University's new parking structure will be constructed in phases. The new parking garage is to be located on North Avenue across the bridge from the University's new HHS building and will be an elegant reinforced concrete, brick and metal panel structure that will provide 250 plus parking spaces for the University's faculty, staff and students in Phase 1 and when fully completed(Phase 1 and Phase 2) a total of 500 parking spaces. This new facility will not only relieve some of the parking crunch on campus but will also relieve some of the congestion in the surrounding Rosemont/Coppin Heights community.
The project has been reviewed for conformity with the requirements of the Clean Air Act with respect to fine particles (PM 2.5) and determined not to be of air quality concern. It has also been reviewed by Baltimore Regional Transportation Board , MDE, and EPA and these agencies concur that this is not a project of air quality concern.
