Nurturing Potential... Transforming Lives

CHCDC Steering Committee

The Alliance is a strategic planning, coordinating, and advocacy group, whose primary purpose is to continuously monitor the proverbial pulse beat, and thus act as the eyes, ears, conscious, and voice of the Greater Coppin Heights/Rosemont Community – a catchment area bounded by Hilton Parkway on the West, Monroe Street on the East, Franklin Street on the South and Gwynns Falls Parkway on the North.

Established in 2002 by the Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation (CHCDC), its overarching objective is to find ways to advance the broader community –in place to synthesize and affect resolution regarding those core issues and concerns that impact neighborhood reinvestment and the overall quality of life within this particular community – to hear, consider, and decide wisely those issues that fall within the following priority areas.

The Alliance is made-up of representatives from Coppin State University, the Baltimore City Planning Department, and the Baltimore Development Corporation, the leadership of key neighborhood associations, including the Alliance of Rosemont Community Organizations (ARCO), ASH-CO East, the Rosemont Neighborhood Improvement Association (RNIA) and the Neighborhood Housing Services of Coppin Heights (NHS).
