PeopleSoft (PS) is a software company started in the mid-1980s. They have spent a considerable amount of time and effort in developing version 8.0, Internet based the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which we are implementing at Coppin.
The PeopleSoft (ERP) software, version 8.0 delivers to the users in our organization on demand both the Enterprise Relationship and Business Analytical data. With the implementation of Campus Portal and individual “role” based security, the staff, faculty, students and visitors can access information via an Internet browser.
Ten USM schools (BSU, CSU, FSU, SU, TU, UB, UMBC, UMB, UMES, and UMUC) have purchased PeopleSoft’s integrated suite of administrative systems to strengthen their infrastructure and provide access to data across systems. This suite includes modules from the PeopleSoft Human Resources Management, Financial Management and Student Administration systems, as well as the Data Warehouse and Customer Relation Management modules.
Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University, Salisbury University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore are currently working together as a consortium to implement the PeopleSoft ERP systems. Other UM schools are independently implementing some or all of the modules.
Cedar Consulting has been selected as the PS implementation partner by the consortium schools. Cedar PS specialists who are located at each school will be working closely with the end-users and the IT staff.
