Step Ahead Program (STEP)

This four-week summer program provides first-year students a head start with their college careers.
STEP provides intense classroom instruction, personal interactions with staff and social development activities designed to help students improve their academic skills while transitioning into Coppin State University.
Eligible STEP participants select their courses and experience cultural enrichment activities during the program.

Pre-College Summer Program (PCSP)
|
This six-week program is broken into two sessions. The Pre-College Summer Program focuses on the academic preparation and remediation of students seeking entry into Coppin State University. The PCSP is designed to improve students’ math, English and reading skills. Test-taking strategies and study skill development will be emphasized.

Tours of Coppin State University are available for individuals as well as groups. During the tour, you will get a chance to visit the classroom buildings, visit the dorm and on-campus dining facilities.
You'll also visit some of the key administrative offices that will assist you in making your university career a success.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Summer Program (STEM)
|
This six-week program provides academic support to students interested in pursuing the following majors: biology, chemistry, computer science, general science, mathematics, pre-dentistry, pre-medical, pre-pharmacy, and pre-physical therapy. Eligible STEM participants will receive stipends and college credit for courses completed during the summer experience. Internships, scholarships and professional development experiences will be made available to students who participate in STEM.

Upward Bound Program (UB)
|
This six-week program provides social, cultural, and educational enrichment experiences to high school students. Upward Bound participants will learn about the University’s admission process. They will also receive financial aid assistance as well as tutorial services.

Coppin Academy for Pre-Nursing Success (CAPS)
|
The Helene Fuld School of Nursing will have a four week summer clinical program where students will shadow a professional role model for six hours a day, two days per week. The student must be a participant in the Coppin Academy for Pre-Nursing Success (CAPS). Please contact the department for additional information.
